Her talent was discovered by Royal Shakespeare Company director Phillips Breen who cast her in the 2016 York Mystery Play as Mary and also helped her sign with another agency. Following that she appeared on television where she gained a recurring role as Daisie on the fifth series of CBBC teen series, Wolfblood.

Ruby Barker also got a role in Sheffield where she starred as Private Sarah Findlay in Of Close Quarters and in 2020 she began playing Marina Thompson in the Netflix drama Bridgerton.
